The emotional impact of leaving, told from the point of view of those who stay.
The theme
Not the act of leaving, but the altered atmosphere left behind for those who stay: routines, rooms and relationships that quietly change shape.
The language
A visual language of subtraction: empty rooms, residual traces, suspended moments. Absence isn't represented, it becomes a tangible force inside the frame.
The craft
Refined in Lightroom and Photoshop, then printed. Working on paper forced choices the screen forgives, and taught me more about tone and contrast than any preset ever did.
The meaning
The void isn't only loss; it's an ambiguous space of growth. A personal departure becomes a universal reflection on change.
Approach & craft
Art direction and creative direction in a team of two: the theme, the visual language of subtraction and the print decisions were mine.
The outcome
- A compelling, coherent photographic story
- Real progress in my printing craft
- A personal theme made universal
